Well,
ducedoobie searched for a while, and finally found out how and shared the info with me. We thought it'd be nice to share with anyone wishing to know.
Go here
appdb.winehq.org/objectManager… this is were you will find these instructions:
Firstly, Load terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
Secondly, Type "wine regedit" and press enter
Thirdly, Navigate through to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Wine
Fourthly, Unless the folder Direct3D is already present in Wine, right click on the folder Wine and choose New > Key. A new folder will appear, name the new folder "Direct3D" and press enter.
Fifthly, Select the new folder named Direct3D and right click in the main window with the (Default) Key in it. In the right click menu under key, choose String Value. Name the new key UseGLSL. Double click on the new key named UseGLSL and set the value data to "disabled". Click OK and exit regedit.
Sixthly, Re-run the game.
That's for guild wars specificly, this might work for your other games:
As for being able to select towns, make sure you turn off the eye-candy (compiz) in system -> Preferences -> appearance -> visual effects.
